        Q&A

        Q.

Can we get married in a Church?

        A.
If you are currently a member of a church that you want to get married in then normally yes. Each religion will have its own requirements for a marriage within the church that will have to be fulfilled. We do have some mom denominational churches available.

        Q.

Do I need to be a resident of Ireland at all?

        A.
You do not need to be a resident of Ireland or any counties in Ireland. As long as you have the appropriate documentation and meet the criteria you can marry in Ireland.

        Q.

How do I get a marriage certificate? Do you take care of that?

        A.
To have a legal ceremony in Ireland, you need to appear in person at the local Registrar's office with the appropriate documents. Since Marriage certificates are legal documents, the license and certificate will be issued directly by them for an additional fee of €220.

        Q.

Do I need witnesses? Will you provide them if I do? ?

        A.
For a legal marriage, you do need 2 witnesses and we can provide them if you plan for just the two of you to travel. With a commitment ceremony, wedding blessing or vow renewal you do not need any witnesses.

        Q.

Will our marriage be legal at home?

        A.
Irish marriages and marriage certificates are recognized in North America and European countries. For other countries, please check with your local authorities.

        Q.

Where can we have our ceremony?

        A.
That is a loaded question! The short answer is that certain celebrants will marry people in different locations. A Catholic ceremony will only happen in a Catholic Church, a state Registrar will only marry you in an approved location, other legal celebrants will marry you in outdoor locations attached to a building and a wedding blessing {non legal} can be anywhere you can imagine! Have a look through our blog for a variety of amazing locations we have worked at.

        Q.

What type of photography will we get?

        A.
You will be provided with a selection of photographers to choose from and will be able to see their photography style and website prior to your wedding. With any of them you will have 4 hours coverage and receive at least 100 fully edited ready to print digital images.

        Q.

        How can we book?

        A.
Email us on annie@elopetoireland.com and we’ll set up a time to talk over your vision, issue a contract, arrange for a deposit and get planning!

        Q.

What are the best payment methods?

        A.
We have found Paypal to be the most efficient and economical way but other arrangements can certainly be made like bank transfer/wire and cash {in Euro} always works of course!

        Q.

How far in advance do I need to plan my elopement?

        A.
For a blessing, give us a month. For a legal wedding, you have to give 3 months notice to the Registrar so 3 months and a week.

        Q.

Can I choose my officiant and other elopement vendors?

        A.
Where possible we will try to give you the options of vendors to choose from. We always work with professional, reputable wedding suppliers in all locations around the country. By preparing our suppliers this way, you get everything you want, without having to pay for the things that you don’t.

        Q.

Can I get a hair and makeup trial? Sure!

        A.
There will be an extra expense paid to the hairdresser or makeup artist but if you have time, absolutely!
