Eloping to Dingle, Co Kerry
We had about a month to plan Nicole and Shane’s elopement.
Although it was just the two of them, they wanted what is the most important about a wedding {of any size!} so their priorities were {in this order} 1} to marry each other 2} have their ceremony in a beautiful, serene location 3} an enthusiastic celebrant and maybe go to a pub for the aftermath. That sounded like a great plan to me and I got to it!
The plan saw them eloping to Dingle, Co Kerry at a seaside castle. Our plan B option was Emlagh House where they were staying for the few days which would have still been wonderful if they were inside looking out at the views over Dingle Bay but the sun shone the whole day for them and it was simply stunning.
The couple got ready separately and I gave a little assistance to each. Shane is a firefighter so not used to wearing a tie. That turned into one of my duties which was totally fine. It just goes to show you never know what your wedding planner will need to do for you!
Once they were both ready, Shane went off with his driver and I took our bride to their seaside castle for an intimate emotional and sentimental ceremony inside the castle ruins.
After the ceremony, the couple went off with their driver took them and their photographer, Bartek Witek around the peninsula for some amazing photos.
Then after a quick change for Nicole, they were ready for a few relaxed drinks before dinner and popped into this unassuming and seemingly quiet very traditional Irish pub, Dick Mack’s. {looks a bit familiar 😉 }
But the pub turned out to be not so quiet! Thankfully Nicole and Shane were up for a dance, their first dance!
Thanks to Mike Smirthwaite and the lads from The Promise for the music and fun in the pub.
All in all, a simple but beautiful and meaningful day for our couple for which I also have to thank Bartek Witek again for the beautiful photos, The girls at Pure Beauty in Dingle for Nicole’s beautification {a great canvas to start with though!}, Louie from I Do Ceremonies for the great energy they wanted, Sheehy’s flower shop in Dingle got Nicole her pink peonies and again, John O’Connor who drove Shane & Nicole and I believe told them some tall tales great stories along the way.
And that is how an elopement is done!
