Island wedding Killarney- They didn’t tell a soul!!
Island Wedding Killarney
Liz and Brian are two smart cookies. Both in the legal profession, when they decided to get married they knew it would be about them and only them so they didn’t tell a soul that they were coming to Ireland for their elopement. For them, that was a wise choice.
Obviously the adventurous sort, the vision was forestry surrounding them and maybe a ruin of some kind if we can manage.
Of course, we could!!
We set about planning their elopement in the forests of Killarney National Park and went a little further off the beaten path on to an island in the Lakes of Killarney with abbey ruins and Romanesque church ruins. Definitely the dream setting for them.
Liz knew from the start that she wouldn’t wear a traditional wedding dress and I adored her navy blue maxi dress with embroidered birds! So very fitting for the location.
Here is how the day looked as photographed by the amazing Sean and Kate!
The couple stayed at Cahernane House, one of my favourite places in Killarney for location, style, atmosphere and service.
Liz and Brian had their first look before the ceremony in the garden of the House.
And off we all went to Ross Castle and to catch the boat to the Island in the Lakes for their Celtic wedding ceremony.
Once on the island, the couple took some selfies before moving into the intimate Romanesque Church ruins complete with Celtic Cross where Helen O’Sullivan, from Spiritual Ceremonies was waiting to marry them!
After a tour of Killarney National Park, what else does one do but go to the pub!
Thanks again to Sean and Kate for the stunning photos and always so fun to hang out with. We really did have such a great time with Liz and Brian! Lots of laughs and hugs {remember them?}.
You see, smart couples Elope to Ireland!
